Bottle 621 - Zwarte Zee
Date Added: 24 May 2008

This is an incredible model of the ship built in bottle and displayed in its own wooden container that allows the viewer to see the bottle as a night scene with actual ship lights and constellations in the sky. It was based on a drawing of one of the most famous tugs in Holland, called the Zwarte Zee (Black Sea). The size of the Zwarte Zee SIB is: Length: 140 mm, Wide: 24 mm, and height, including the mast 50mm. The hull is made in two parts, put together whit little wooden pins. There are two masts on the tug and between them there was a antenna. Two lifeboats at the deckhouse, some small deck lights, role-bars, winches, railing, and smoke stack complete the tug. The ship has been wired with LAD wiring to light up the windows in the steering house, deckhouse and hull. The ship is built in a square transparent bottle woth a bottle neck size of 22mm and then put in a wooden box. The inside of the container is painted black and the constellation Bootes or Ox Sheppard is depicted. A zinc form is attached to the wooden box to allow the viewer to see inside and enjoy the lights in the sky and on the ship.
