Bottle 1510 - Suriname Tent Yacht in a Bottle
Date Added: 27 September 2022

Frans Dekker has built two "Tent" Yachts in a Bottle. These transports were originally used to carry the public. At first, these boats had a tent made of cloth. Later, the tent was changed to a "tent" of wood with glass windows. This one was used in the former colony of Suriname. There, the Dutch had a lot of plantations situated up and down the rivers. The only way to transport people and products was the water. The slave holder had these kind of yachts and the slaves had to row the boats. This is a second tent yacht built by Frans Dekker. It show seven men on deck, six of the rowing. It has ornate decoration on the top part of the hull, and on the deck house. It flies the flag of the Netherlands on the stern.
