The bird and yarn whimsey is a inspired copy of a similar whimsey. The whimsey is in a whiskey decanter and is 7.5 inches x 3 inches x 3.5 inches. Two Goldfinches that are supported on pegs have red thread in their beaks. The yarn winder is made of Basswood and Cherry. The turned stopper which includes a locking mechanism is also made of Cherry. The yarn winder sits on a hard wood floor which is supported by two support beams. The artist's name, Steve Moseley, St. Louis, and 2009 are written on the bottom of the floor.
