Date Added: 28 November 2006

This is a model of "Walk-in-the-Water, a pioneer steamer of the Western Lakes. The model is built as a whole hull model secured to the bottom of the bottle. This is a paddle steamer that was a cross between a steamer and a sailing craft. It has two high masts built in two sections. There are shrouds and ratlines running up both masts. The ship has a spar and yards on the mast. There is a smoke stack standing between the masts amidship. The stack is black with red rings' and rigging to secure the stack. There are two large paddle boxes painted black with white spokes and a red half circle over the top, which houses the white paddle wheels. These are placed amidship and protruded from the deck. There is wooden railing around the entire deck. There are two white davits in the stern of the ship with a life boat suspended. The life boat is red on the bottom and white on the top with a thin black line separating the colors. The deck is planked and has several deck features including hatches and deck cabins. The ship has accurate standing and running rigging displayed. There is a plaque on the top of the bottle that reads: "Walk-In-The-Water Steve Moseley 2001." The bottle is sealed with a cork.
