Bottle 520 - Ezgi II
Date Added: 24 February 2007

Güllet’s are typical Turkish sailing vessels, you will recognize where ever you spot them. The EZGI II is a charter ship that makes sailing trips with tourists along the Turkish coast. The ship has two masts, the main mast in front. It carries three sails. On the poopdeck is the dinner table and on the poop is a long gangway fitted. Under the gangway is little dinghy hanging on two cranes. On top of the deckhouse the blue mattresses are waiting for the sunbathing passengers. Although she is not particularly ‘ a pearl in the crown’ as a ship in a bottle, she really is a fine memory of a great vacation. The artist, Henny Fransen added the following about his experience: "In July, 2002 my wife and I, accompanied by some relatives and friends flew to Turkey for a two week sailing holiday on the EZGI II. It was a tremendous holiday and we enjoyed every moment of it. The crew of three men were very friendly. The cook surprised us with every meal cooked in his tiny galley. Every day we sailed another track. In the afternoon and at night the captain looked for a quite little bay to drop the anchor. Then we had our meals and parties. The sun was hot and the water nice and cool. On Wednesday and Saturday we ran into little ports for refreshments and new passengers. What a holiday !!"
