Bottle 1153 - Potosi in a Bottle
Date Added: 28 November 2025

This is a wonderful scene of the ship "Potosi" anchored near a large town. The ship has 5 masts with double yard arms. There is very detailed standing and running rigging with the shrouds in black and the remaining rigging white. In the water is a large buoy with a red bottom, with a white and black top. On the buoy are the initials "TC" for the maker, Theodor Carstensen. The town is full of buildings with 10 different structures built on two levels, including a church with a large steeple, windmill, lighthouse, government buildings, and more. The bottle is sealed with a cork wrapped in foil and rests on a custom stand that is not original. Theodor Carstensen is a co-author of the book "Der Perfekte Buddelschiffbauer" and very similar ships to this model are shown in his book.
