Bottle 978 - 4 Mast Ship |
---|
Date Added: 27 March 2012
This is a four mast ship, possibly German, from around the middle of the 1900’s. The ship is anchored at sea near a town with more than 30 houses and buildings dotting the landscape. The ship and hilly landscape in the background fill the bottle nicely. The ship is a generic model and not a model of a specific ship. Although somewhat simple and lacking in details, the rigging, particularly the shrouds, are very well done by someone who understands rigging; perhaps someone with nautical experience or at least by someone who studied ship's rigging.
