Bottle 844 - Ocean Bride
Date Added: 22 August 2010

This is a wonderful model of a ship called the "Ocean Bride" built by the late George W. Fulfit. The ship has the name "Ocean Bride" printed on the bow. It is a four mast ship flying 34 sails. The deck has three large cabins and many other deck features, including ropes, chains, anchors, and more. The ship has both standing and running rigging with shrouds and ratlines. There is a large lifeboat hanging from davits in the stern of the ship. This bottle contains the notable and unique sailors and sea gulls that George put in his bottles. There are eight colorful sailors positioned on various parts of the ship and rigging. The bottle also contains three seagulls flying inside the bottle with a fourth one just entering the neck. There is a nest in the cork with three baby birds. There is a label in the neck with the words "Ships in Bottles, George W. Fulfit, Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada,1987." The artist has also signed his name in blue ink. The bottle rests on a custom made wooden stand with a cradle for the bottle.
