Bottle 576 - Schooner

This is a two masted schooner with 5 sails and a long red and white banner flying fro the top of each mast. The hull is white with a thin black line near the top and a black painted anchor on the bow. The deck is natural wood and there is railing depicted around the deck area. There is a large deck cabin with port windows along the side and deck grating in front of the cabin. There is also a triangle shaped glass house in the stern area of the ship. The ship has both shrouds and ratlines. The ship is mounted on a wooden platform with a carved and painted ship's captain in full uniform with hands in pockets and shown smoking a pipe. He stands approximately 3 3/4" tall.. The shelf is 9 1/2" wide and 4 1/4" deep. The upper portion is a 9 1/4" piece of wood with the top corners rounded. A piece of rope has been attached on all 3 free sides. All the wood and the rope have been stained a dark brown. On the front of this piece, behind the bottle and captain, is a securely attached paper titled "The Ship In A Bottle Mystery." The history of this craft and the instructions on how to do it are printed, as well as a 3 piece illustration.
