Bottle 407 - 4 mast Ship
Date Added: 13 June 2006

This is an extraordinarily well made and detailed model of a 4 masted ship sailing on a calm sea of blue-green. The ship has a brown hull and a black stripe at the top of the bulwarks. The masts are well-proportioned and each has two tree trestles on the mast. The ship has 32 sails flying. The rigging is exceptional with both standing and running rigging. There are black shroud lines from the deck to just under the first spar and from the 2nd spar to the top trestletree. This is repeated on each mast. Each shroud has very proportionately placed ratlines. There are 5 proportioned spars on each mast. The sails have both braces and lifts and there are tackles and blocks throughout. The bowsprit is in 2 sections and has a dolphin striker. The deck is in light wood and there at 2 cabins and hatch with greenhouse glass windows in a tent shape in the stern of the deck. There are two life boats, one on each side of the stern portion of the deck suspended from davits. The bottle is sealed with a cork with a top similar to an old style bottle cap on the cork.
