Ships, Folk Art, and Whimsey in Bottles

This is a windmill in a bottle. The pieces are all natural wood. The base is connected with a lap joint to form an "X." There is a single square column from the base that has "X's" drawn in pencil on two sides. The windmill sits on top of this column. The windmill is made from a long piece of wood with a large curve on the end opposite the propellers. The propellers are carved into thin curved blades that are lap each other like a fan. They attach to the main shaft with a peg and that peg has a small peg through it. The whole windmill rests on the main column with a wooden peg. The bottle is sealed with a wooden shaft with a tapered crosspiece running through it making it impossible to remove the stopper. The end of the wooden shaft has a pattern carved on top.
