Bottle 1085 - Jesus on the Cross in a Bottle |

The crucifixion scene was made in the late 1800s. It shows Jesus on the cross with a plaque above His head with the letters "JNRI." Jesus is attached to the cross with a pin going through His chest. He has a loin cloth made from a red thread wrapped around Him. The bottle also contains a flail. Rooster, chalice, a spear and sponge on long poles, ladder, pliers and mallet. The face of Jesus, the rooster, cross, and spear are outlined in pencil on each of them as is the style of Carl Worner. The bottle is a German bottle from Cassel, Germany. The following is raised on the bottle: "Stern-Apotheke, Von, Fr. Theys, Cassel, Oberste Gasse, No. 4." a 100 in on the bottom of the glass.
