Bottle - 1886 Yarn Winder in a Bottle |
---|
Date Added: 05 June 2017
This bottle contains a wonderful yarn winder on an elaborate frame. The winder has four arms and has red yarn wrapped around them. The upright supports of the frame are nicely carved as well as the base pieces. The base has slots in the ends of each piece where the adjoining piece fits in and then is pegged to hold it in place. The bottle is sealed with a wooden stopper that has a crosspiece going through on the inside making it impossible to remove the stopper. On the crosspiece is written "18 "and "96"- the year the bottle was built on one side; and, "A" and "Liberoth"-the name of the maker on the other side. The top of the bottle is decoratively carved.
