Bottle 856 - Niddy Noddy |
---|
Date Added: 23 September 2011
This yarn winder patience bottle is well made. As you can see, the bottle is quite unique. It contains no identifying marks only a pontil on the bottom. Including the topper the whimsey is 15 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The winder inside of the bottle is 8 1/2 inches tall. The center shaft has been turned on a lathe. The thread that was used to wind the whimsey is red. The Walnut stopper is well made with a beautiful patina. A locking mechanism prevents the stopper from being removed. A thick gold thread is tied around the neck, with a thicker black thread with brass end pieces dangling from the gold thread.
