Bottle 1125 - Three Doll Loom in a Bottle
Date Added: 28 December 2021

This is bottle built in the early 1800s containing two looms and a yarn winder on top. The loom is built with dark colored natural wood. The bottom loom has blue and white cloth being woven on the loom. Seated at the end of the loom is a porcelain girl doll. The girl has very detailed and delicate facial features. She has blonde hair and is wearing a colorful cloth scarf around her shoulders and a bright pink skirt. Her arms are porcelain and are positioned on each side of the material being woven on the loom. The second or middle layer has a nearly identical scene with a similar doll dressed in a pink top with a red scarf. Her skirt is black and white striped. On top of the upper loom is a smaller and less detailed porcelain doll also clothed with a red cloth wrapped around her. She appears to be a child and is sitting on the top of the loom beside a two level yarn winder wrapped with white threads and tied in the center. The bottle is sealed with a wooden shaft and tamper proof cross piece. The top is sealed with a brownish colored disc like piece of wood. The bottle is a hand blown bottle with a pontil and an applied neck.
