Ships, Folk Art, and Whimsey in Bottles

This bottle contains a carved dark wooden oval shape built from seven ornately carved pieces. Inside the oval is a light colored caged ball. The oval is positioned between two dark wooden crosspieces supports that are joined with four lighter colored ornately carved column shaped pieces. These pieces rest on a carved stand that fills the bottom of the bottle. The whole structure is held down by a wooden stopped that has a crosspiece or trick stopper preventing the stopper from being removed. There is an ornately carved wooden acorn sized top and shape outside the bottle.
