Bottle 622 - Colgate Toothpaste, Brush, Flosser
Date Added: 28 May 2008

From the Artist: "I wasn't sure if THIS one could be done. The cap had to be PRIED through the opening and the tube of toothpaste had to be emptied, flattenened, twisted, and practically mutilated to get it into the bottle. The base under the cap had to be shortened, leaving just enough to screw on the cap inside the bottle. Once FINALLY in the bottle, the tube had to be reformed using formed coat hangers and whatever I could get to work. That took a LONG time and you'll notice it never did get back to perfectly smooth. It looked better than NOW, but further work messed it up a bit later in the process. To REFILL the tube (yup, it's FULL), I had to put a lot of smaller corks in below the tube to raise the tube to near the top of the bottle. I attach a longer glue nozzle to another couple of tubes of toothpaste and used that to refill the bottle. (It took a couple because much of the toothpaste remained in the long glue nozzle tip.) I almost didn't the cap through the opening
after all of this to close the thing! Then I had to get all the smaller corks out. Water flushed in, helped float those out with a bit of manipulating, but the toothpaste tube got a bit bent again doing this. The toothbrush was EASY to get in of course, but finding a smaller size plain brush wasn't easy. This was a freebie from a hotel (the kind they keep on hand for guests who forget theirs). It's a no name brand but shorter so it worked. I added a flosser for good measure. EASY for that piece. The bottle was from a thrift shop and the glass a bit distorted but it was a great shape for this and only a quarter. Anyway, I haven't seen THIS one done yet. :)"
