Bottle 426 - Fan in Coffin Bottle |
---|
Date Added: 25 April 2007
This is a carved wooden fan mounted on a base in a two mold Coffin Bottle. The fan opens to approximately 310 degrees. The fan is natural wood with dark and light blue dots painted in the upper one-third of the fan blades. The fan stem is decoratively carved with the same blue dots. The bottom of the stem is much wider than the stem and rounded. This stem fits into a slot carved in the base. The base is a single piece of wood glued to the bottom of the bottle. It is carved with cut "X's" on the top and wide diagonal lines on the sides. This base is painted in the dark and light blue colors with the cut lines left natural. The bottle is sealed with a wooden stopper with the very bottom rounded and painted white. The top of the stopper outside the bottle is also rounded and left in natural wood. There stopper has dark blue paint over sections. There is a cross arm that goes through a slot in the stopper making the stopper impossible to pull out of the bottle. The cross arm is curved to the shape of the bottle and the ends are painted in a white diamond with a dark blue dot in the middle of the diamond.
