This is a wonderful Buddha shrine in a bottle. Buddha is seated on a platform raised from a pedestal base. His clothing is stained green with gold and a tall pointy tiered hat in the Oriental tradition is also green and gold. His face is natural with pronounced nose and the eyes are drawn on. A natural wood feather-like carving extends from each shoulder. Around the base that the Buddha sits on are eight carved wooden decorations, approximately ¾” tall. There are also four rods with relief carving on top of each. There are also eight glass beads and tassels on the platform. The shrine is composed of four gold posts--they appear to have been treated with gold leaf--with a solid top with green Oriental beads and tassel-like decorations. On three sides of the shrine's top are green and gold carved decorations with flame-like points on top of each and 2 extensions with clear glass beads and pink tassels on the bottom. On the front is a similar decoration except this is a carved peacock with his tail fanned open and carved in relief. The peacock's body is carved and extends from the tail. Above that is a smaller solid platform with four wires extending from each corner and also the same beads and tassels. The bottle is sealed with a gold wooden cork that extends and touches this platform, keeping the shrine "fixed" in place. The bottle is finally sealed with black sealing wax.
