Bottle 199 - Crucifixion Scene |
---|
Date Added: 01 October 2005
Wonderful scene of the crucifixion. The cross has a cut out of Jesus on the cross with Mary at his feet. At the base of the cross is a cutout of maybe the pope. Behind the cutout is a pole with a sign that is may be in Latin but hard to read. All carved items are painted gold. There is a lance, a mallet, a rooster, a ladder, a sponge, a lantern, pliers, and 4 tree-like poles. The base is black and there is a red yarn bow or ribbon hanging from the cross. The bottle is sealed with a cork holding down a wood block that extends to the top of the cross. Very old and well done. The rooster has come loose from the base.
