Ships, Folk Art, and Whimsey in Bottles

A very detailed scene of an transatlantic Liner sailing in front of a town. The Queen Mary was inserted in the bottle in multiple layers. The details are many and well represented including many lifeboats, vents, portholes, windows, stanchions and more. There are 2 masts with very good rigging and a British falls atop the stern mast. The liner has 3 smokestacks with smoke coming out. The liner is as long as the inside of the bottle. It sails on a choppy ocean. The town is raised high above the ocean and is in two land masses separated by a bridge and waterfall. The small land area contains a tall tower enclosed with a brick or stone wall. There is a road in front with an old dark blue of black car. A large 3 section townhouse type structure is in the background. The larger area of land has numerous townhouse type structures along the entire back of the bottle with a very large church and steeple in the center. In front of the buildings is a road with a large red truck, blue and white old-time touring type bus followed by a horse pulling a wagon. The sea is built on a platform of wooden slats glued to the bottom of the bottle. This is a truly interesting an well-made diorama.
