This chair was made by Roscpe Axton back in the 1940's. The chair legs and back are carved in a tapered style up and down the entire length. There are 3 rungs in the chair back and a single rung is between each of the legs. The chair seat is made from loosely woven hemp. The bottle is sealed with a wooden shaft with a tamper proof crosspiece making it impossible to remove the stopper. Inside the bottle is a label taped on the glass which reads: SOUVENIR - Elk City, Oklahoma."This bottle is made by R C Axton who lived at 500 West 8 St Elk City Okla, R. C. Axton was Roscoe C. Axton, born in Kansas in 1885, died in 1957 in a V.A. hospital in Amarillo, TX, and lived most of his life in OK. He was listed as a laborer in the 1930 census in Washita Co., OK.
