Bottle 171 - David Moran
Date Added: 01 October 2005

A wonderful model of the New York Harbor Tug "David Moran." The Tug is very large and the hull was divided down the middle so it would go in the bottle. The hull is black with a narrow white stripe near the top. The tug has a large cabin rising from the main deck. The cabin has railing around it with port holes, doors, windows and more adding to the detailed model. The top of the cabin has a lifeboat hanging from davits, There is a smoke stake rising from the deck of the main cabin. A second cabin rises from the 1st cabin. It, too, is loaded with details such as doors, windows, radar and a flag pole with a flying American flag. All decks are planked individually showing great detail. The tug sails on a calm sea of blue. The bottle has 5 sea gulls painted on the inside of the bottle. The bottle is mounted on a wooden plinth with the words "David Moran" on the board. Under the platform is a label with the following "Moran family were major tug boat operators in New York Harbor for 50 years. This is handmade."
