Ships, Folk Art, and Whimsey in Bottles

This is a great village scene in the Philippines. There is a rattan hut on stilts with nice features including ladders, windows with push out covers. The word Philippines appears under the large window. There are 2 people in the scene. One is doing the laundry and the other one is getting the wood for the fire. There is a large palm tree with a lot of coconuts, sections of fence, and various pots and tubs. This diorama in a bottle was made by prisoners in Philippines penal system for tourist trade. The bottle is sealed with a screw top wrapped in a beige rope. The bottle sits on a wooden plinth.
