Bottle 60 - Skier |
---|
Date Added: 01 October 2005
Wooden model of a man skiing. The skier has jointed arms and legs, and is holding ski poles. Details of his clothes, and branches on the tree were burned in, and the wood is finished in a medium brown stain. The skier is bent over holding ski poles (one has come loose in the bottle). There are 2 wooden pine trees. The whole scene is similar to how a whirligig might be made. The scene inside was pegged together without glue. The bottle is sealed with a wooden cap. For many years a factory in LeMans produced figures in bottles. Many were sports figures and a model with 4 people playing cards was produced over 50 years ago. These bottles are usually used as decanters. For 3 days the bottles are filled with water. The water is replaced with clean water on each of the three days, then filled with the owner's favorite clear liquor. Due to the death of the owners the factory is now closed.
