---|
Date Added: 30 May 2006
This is a scene of 4 wooden men sitting around a table drinking and playing cards. Each man has separate arms and legs and is crudely carved and attach to the body with wooden pegs. They sit in 4 identical chairs with tall backs. There is a table with a single square pedestal supporting the table top. On the table are 3 cups and one bottle. Each man is holding a card in his raised hand. The base is crossed mortised pieces of wood. On the ends of each piece are small cuts of wood used to keep the bottle tight against the edges of the bottle. This may have been a commercial type scene made in the 1960's and was often made in a whisky or wine bottle. Some of the other scenes includes a hunter, fisherman, skier, and drunk..
