Bottle 432 - Crucifixion with Angel
Date Added: 04 July 2006

This is a scene of the crucifixion with many religious symbols built in an old syrup bottle. The cross and all the symbols are build from wood and painted in gold paint. The cross and cross arms are shaped to a point on the ends. Jesus comes from an old Holy Card cutout and includes the INRI plaque at the top. The cross sits on a wooden base that extends to each side of the bottle. On the front of the base is a dice showing the number 4. On top of the base and dice are three more dice stacked in a pyramid shape with an Angels face with wings, also from a Holy Card, fixed behind the dice. On both sides of the base and on the outside end are obelisk shapes. On one side of the base is a pair of pliers and a large mallet. On the other side is an axe and a pick. On the back and leaning against the cross is a tall ladder with 5 rungs. The is a spear and a sponge on long slender poles. They are fixed in an "X" or cross position and in the center is a cut out of a shield in red, white and blue with roses around the shield. The bottle is sealed with a cork.
