Bottle 332 - Niddy Noddy
Date Added: 01 October 2005

This is a wonderful feat of ingenuity. This is a niddy noddy which has 3 pieces of wood fixed by mortise and tendon joint together. The large middle section has carved shapes. Blue, red and yellow threads are wrapped in an alternating pattern around the pieces. The center piece of the niddy noddy has From ?.(could be an L, T, or G) Moffett to Harry Hood Jr." written on one side and "March 17th 1873" on the other side. Also, remaining in the bottle is the wooden spool with blue thread wrapped around it. The bottle is sealed with a wooden stopper which protrudes into the bottle and has a horizontal carved piece of wood through it, which makes it impossible to remove the stopper. On the outside is a caver cylinder with a cross weave pattern carved on it. According to the seller this piece was made in Northumberland, United Kingdom but this is not verified.
