Bottle - Carl Worner Saloon in a Bottle |
---|
Date Added: 23 January 2017
This Carl Worner Saloon bottle has two men standing at a bar with a saloon keeper serving them beer. One man is dressed in a blue suit and the other a grey suit. Each hold a beer in their right hand. Behind the bar is a sign that says "Union Cuban Cigars." A large plan in a pot sits on each end of the bar. In front of the bar is a small table with a bottle on top. A chair and two tall plants are beside the table. In front of the table is a sign that says "Find the Missing Man." Above the bar is a large plaque that says "Saloon" along with two ornate pieces of whitewash wood. There is an American flag on each side to the top. The saloon scene rests on a raised platform with a decorative pattern in blue. On the back of the bottle, tucked away in a small nook under the platform is a small privy we find the "Missing Man" sitting on the toilet. The unfinished back of the bottle shows the method of construction. Wooden cigar boxes were used as the main material for this bottle. The bottle is sealed with a wooden stopper that has a crosspiece or trick stopper going through stopper making it impossible for the stopper to be removed.
