Bottle 971 - HMS Bounty Sails to Tahiti
Date Added: 12 February 2012

This is a wonderful scene of the HMS Bounty during its voyage to the Tahitian Islands in 1788. The ship has all of the details and accuracy found on the original ship. The ship has amazing deck and rigging details with shrouds, ratlines and blocks in the standing and running rigging. The artist has crafted a full crew perfuming their tasks. They are shown on the deck, climbing the ratlines, trimming the sails and more. The British flag of the period is blowing in the wind from the stern of the ship. Alongside the Bounty are three outriggers being paddled by native Tahitians. The bottle is sealed with a cork with the following information on one side: "Tahiti 1788, 2011" and "HMS Bounty, Gerard Aubry" on the other side.
