Bottle 955 - Cowboys and Horse in a Bottle |
---|
Date Added: 11 December 2015
This is a great Old Quaker liquor bottle with two cowboys and a horse made from wood. One man is on horseback with a coil of rope hanging on one arm, the other man is walking behind the horse and has a gun hanging at his side. The holstered revolver hanging at the side is very detailed. Both figures are wonderfully carved and highly detailed. The horse, with bridle and rein is also carved at a high level of skill. The backdrop shows the boards of a barn or stable. There is a curious drawing of a horse in the middle to emulate a horse sticking his head out the window of the stable or barn. There are cut out flowers around the top and sides. The bottle appears to be a pint bottle that is 6 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches at widest part. It has raised letters "Old Quaker" and man in a hat on one side along with "Federal Laws forbid Sale of Re-Use of the Bottle," and lots of raised letter on underside of bottle.
