Ships, Folk Art, and Whimsey in Bottles

This very miniature model of a ship in a bottle was started in 1973 and completed by Helmut Parr in 1974. It has three masts and 19 sails. The deck shows two cabins and there are 4 lifeboats. The detail on such a small model is just amazing. The initials of the builder "H.P." and the years 73-74 are written on the small coork sealing the bottle. The bottle rests on a very samll wooden stand.
