---|
Date Added: 17 August 2011
This is a very old and amazingly built yarn winder in a green bottle with a deep, bell-shaped indentation on the bottom. The winder has 3 levels of winders of four arms each. The arms are attached to a center post carved in a threaded pattern. A white and red yarn string is interwoven around the arms is a geometric pattern. On the end of each arm is a red, white and blue tassel like ball or yarn. Approximately 3 1/2 inches from the top of the bottle are double interlocking crosspieces. The threaded center post extends to the top of the bottle which is sealed with a cork. The bottle came from St. Andrews, Scotland.
