Identifying label reads, " 'Vigilant' 1893, America's Cup Defender"Mainmast 1.5" high. Model hull 1" long. Faded patina consistent with late 19th Century. Despite small size, model contains many miniaturized details and detailed rigging. Vigilant was the victorious United States defender of the eighth America's Cup in 1893 against British challenger Valkyrie II.
