Bottle 437 - Fan with Tassels
Date Added: 13 August 2006

This is a fan carved from a singe piece of wood built in bottle. The fan has very decorative fan blades that are opened to 180 degrees. The fan is set on a single plinth of wood that extends to each edge of the bottle's width. The plinth has "October 9" on one side and the year "1935" on the other. The bottle is sealed with a wooden dowel that has a tamper proof crosspiece that goes through the shaft to prevent the stopper from being pulled out. The crosspiece is carved to the contours of the bottle's top and on each end is suspended a red yarn tassel. On both sides of the crosspiece are the letters "L' to one side and "D" to the other side. These are the initials of the builder of this fan bottle.
