This is a model from the series "USS Preble" built by Jack Verducci in 1971. This is the fourth ship of the series, the 1920 USS Preble, a Light Minelayer. The ship sails on a light blue sea with white wake from the ship. The entire hull and deck of the ship is painted in a dark gray. Port windows are represented on the bow of the ship and there is a "345" in large white letters with black drop down shadows. The ship has multiple decks and there are several different guns and cannons in different sizes throughout the ship. A large cannon on the bow has just fired and there is smoke coming out from the barrel. There are 4 large smoke stacks with dark billowing smoke coming out of each. There is a large mast behind the captain’s deck with black rigging. A large banner flies from the top. There is a second mast toward the stern it also has rigging and an American Flag flies from the top. There are 2 white lifeboats hanging from davits, with red inflatable boats below each lifeboat. There are 4 sets of torpedos of tubes of some sort. Other deck and cabin features are visible on this detailed model. Under the sea is a label with the following words: "USS Preble IV 1920, Built for RV Cowles 1971 by Jack Verducci." It is sealed with a wooden stopper covered with red sealing wax. Other bottles in this series are bottle ID 320, 321, 322, and 323.
