Bottle 252 - Tulsa |
---|
Date Added: 01 October 2005
This is a model of a buck saw in a bottle. The saw blade is real metal and the cross piece has a message written on both sides. On one side it reads "Tulsa '36, Going Home, Lobo the One-eyed Hobo." On the other side is written "Caught river on fire cooking." The event referred to is based on an actual event of the Arkansas River catching on fire in 1936 in Tulsa. The average summer temperature was 105.3 and the Arkansas River caught fire due to a lot of drift wood and no water.
