Bottle 242 - Battleship
Date Added: 01 October 2005

This is a wonderful scene of an unidentified WW I type Battleship sailing under full steam past a town on cliffs and a hillside. The ship has a red colored bottom hull and the rest of the ship is in a typical navy gray. The ship has several decks, numerous window ports, and 4 door openings all drawn in black are prominent on each level. The ship has 4 large guns, 2 toward the bow and 2 toward the stern. Each gun has 2 black cannon barrels. The ship has 2 masts with accurate rigging. There are 3 large smoke stacks each with plums of grayish smoke trailing from each. There are 4 large lifeboats. A flag (somewhat resembling an American flag) flies from the rigging lines coming from the rear mast. A small anchor is drawn on the bow. The sea is a very dark blue green with waves which were probably white, now in a ochre like color. The land is 3/4 the length of the bottle and has different levels as if a mountain or hillside village. The land is in a dark brown color with other multiple colors of red and green blended in. There are 11 houses with red roofs and multiple windows. Additionally, there is a windmill high on a hill. There is a church with a large steeple. There is also a lighthouse on the outer land joining the sea. Behind the land is a dramatic painted sky with deep blues and long lengths of white clouds serving as a background for the scene.
