Bottle - Rabbit, Bird, Flowers in a Bottle |

Date Added: 28 May 2018
This is a whimsical bottle made by Amos L. Beiler. The bottle is built in true Beiler fashion with multiple shapes and sizes of different woods to form a scene from nature. This trees and leaves are built on a skeletal form mounted on a wooden planked base. There are several leaves and what appear to be dogwood blossoms. On the base are two rabbits and between them on a branch is a large bird. In front of the base are four large leaves and a single blossom. From the previous owner, "My older brother was a writer in the 1960's for a newspaper in the small town of Honeybrook, PA. He became friends with an Amish family, the Beiler's, who allowed him into their home and write articles on their simple and wonderful way of living. This bottle was purchased from Amos Beiler in the early 1960s."
