Friendship Sloop
Date Added: 17 April 2010
This model is based on a composite of photos & drawings adapted from the book by Roger Duncan - Friendship Sloops -1985. This is a wonderful book for sailors, model makers or anyone enthusiastic about classic wooden boats. In this scene, two men are maneuvering by the first buoy before heading back into the harbor. The model is made from an aspen hull, with mahogany trim and basswood strips. The hull shape and rigging are based on the classic Friendship sloop style found along the coast of Maine.
