The SIB is based on the comic "Kappie." This comic was first published on december 27, 1945 in two Durch newspapers, later on followed by the Gazet of Antwerp and other daily newspapers. In 1972 the last comic was published in a Dutch newspaper. In total 141 stories were published. The SIB: Buildingtime: 32 hours, Material: beech for the hull, styreen for details and superstructure. The sea is made of clay.
