Since a very long time the Dutch were very succesful in trading eel on the London market. The eel was stored in a tank, par of the hull, that was in connection to the sea, so the eel could survive during the voyage. The last eelbarge was the Korneliske Ykes which made her last trip in 1934. The ship was demolished during WW2. A replica was build in 2009 and named Korneliske Ykes II. Building the SIB took 51 hours. Sea is made of liquid resin. Hull is made of beech and polystyrene.
