The cross has a cut out of Jesus on the cross with Mary and 2 others at his feet. The cross is painted gold and silver from the top to the bottom of Jesus' feet. Below that the cross is painted black. There are carved "X" patterns on the cross and grooved at each end of the crosspieces and the top. A black lantern hangs from one side of the cross and a red flail with a black handle from the other. At the base of the cross are 4 tree-like poles (one has come dislodged). There is a gold ladder with 6 rungs. There is a spear, sponge on the end of a pole, and a roster on the end of another pole. There is a long pair of pliers, and a mallet. The base is black The bottle is sealed with a cork with a piece of wire extending from the cork to the top of the cross holding it in place.
