Queen Mary
Date Added: 01 October 2005
This is a very well made and detailed scene of the 1936 - 1967 Queen Mary sailing on a choppy sea of dark blue near a long pier. The liner had a black hull and the multiple decks are painted white. There are many port holes painted on in white on the hull and black on the multiple decks in a very realistic and impressive manner. There are 2 masts with rigging. The main line going between the 2 masts has broken. There are 3 large red smoke stacks painted black on the top section. On both sides of the top deck are davits with 14 paper lifeboats glued on the davits. Beside the liner's bow is a small tug boat with 2 masts, one sail and a large cabin. Although hard to read, it looks like the letters WY1 is painted on the tug's sail. Behind the liner is a pier the length of the bottle. The only features are on the end toward the neck of the bottle where there is a mast like structure with rigging on each side and signal flags on one side. Next to that is a large white lighthouse with black details. The bottle is sealed with a cork and sits on a large detailed oak stand. The stand is custom made with a carved area in the shape of the bottle.
