Find the Missing Man Saloon
Date Added: 24 September 2021
Noted artist, Carl Worner built this saloon scene in a bottle shortly after 1900. It is a scene inside a bar with a bar tender at a long bar. Behind the bar tender are several bottles with two plaques above them that that state "Habana 100" and "Union Cigar". Three men with beers are standing at the bar. In front of them is a small table with two liquor bottles. Sitting at the table is a woman in a fancy dress and large hat with a bottle of beer raised in her hand. In front of the bottle is a second lady in a large full length blue dress facing a large beer keg. Above the decorative bar is a large gold eagle with two American flags below the outstretched wings of the eagle. Under the floor of the bar is written "Find the Missing Man." From the left side of the bottle you can see the signature of the artist: "Carl Worner the Wittler." The "Missing Man" can be seen sitting on a privy. On the right side of the bottle you can see a "Rear" view of the man on the privy showing the artist's great humor. The bottle is sealed with a wooden stopper with a wooden crosspiece going through it making it impossible to get inside the bottle.
