Violin on a Pedestal |
---|
Date Added: 23 July 2010
This is a wonderful, highly detailed model of a violin built inside a bottle. The violin is stained in a striking ebony color and is positioned on a delicately carved wooden pedestal atop a three legged stool with a red velvet cushion. Under the stool is a red tapestry carpet. Leaning against the violin is a long violin bow. The bottle is sealed with a wooden stopper magnificently carved in the shape of a peacock with its tail open in a full fan. There is a carved wooden ball under the peacock with delicate relief carvings. There is a black wooden plinth under the bottle with the name of the artist "R. Kamasara" shown on a red plaque.
