The Olympias is the only example in the world of an ancient Athenian trireme, rebuilt thanks to funding from the Greek Navy between 1985 and 1987. The ship, which measures 36.9 meters and weighs 70 tons, is in dry for some time now, but thanks to the accuracy of the reconstruction and the tests carried out at sea, the Archaeologists were able to obtain important information regarding the functioning and nature of navigation at the time of ancient Greece. Olympias is a test of "Experimental Archeology" that comes from a private association, the British Trireme Trust.
