The following patience bottle is housed in a 1.75 Knob Creek bottle. In Appalachia there is a tradition of snake handling by preachers during church services. They use poisonous snakes, rattlesnakes to be precise. In this bottle the well dressed preacher is holding what he hopes his flock will believe is a Coral Snake. It is really a King Snake. The King Snake has a similar color pattern to deter predators from attaching it. As the saying goes: If red touches black, you're O.K. Jack. If red touches yellow you're a dead fellow. A real Coral snake slithers under the hardwood floor while the collection plate sits atop the floor. In the preacher's right hand is the Holy Bible. Behind him is a stained glass window. The stopper with locking mechanism is made of Walnut, with an acorn hat on top. Inlaid in the front of the stopper is the title: Mark 16:18 in Disguise. Mark 16:18 is the bible verse that is used to explain snake handling. On the floor supports is the maker's information: Steve Moseley, St. Louis 2010.
