Bottle 442 - Lady Nelson

This is a model of an armed English Cutter, the "Lady Nelson" built in a Haig dimple Scotch bottle. The ship sails on a dark green sea with some whitecaps. The bottom of the ship's hull is red and upper part black with a single white stripe in the middle of the black. There are 10 gun port; 5 on each side. The ship has a single mast and 3 yard arms. There are 7 sails flying. The ship has both standing and running rigging that is very detailed and realistic. The mast, yardarms, and spars are very well proportioned. The ship has a British flag and a long banner flying from the top of the mast. The bulwarks are raised from the deck of the ship. The ship has 3 cabins, a wheelhouse, binnacle, and windlass. Under the hull of the ship and seen on the underside of the bottle are the initials of the maker of this model "TB" and the year it was made "1958." The bottle is sealed with a cork.
