Bottle 262 - 1932 Crucifixion Scene

Date Added: October 1, 2005
Wonderful scene of the crucifixion. The bottle is dated on a piece of paper nailed to the base that reads: "18-6-1932." The cross has a cut out of Jesus on the cross with Mary and 2 others at his feet. The cross is painted gold and silver from the top to the bottom of Jesus' feet. Below that the cross is painted gray. There are carved "X" patterns on the cross and grooved at each end of the crosspieces and the top. A silver lantern hangs from one side of the cross and a red flail from the other. At the base of the cross are 4 tree-like poles (one has come dislodged). There is a gold ladder with 4 rungs. There is a spear, sponge on the end of a pole, and a roster on the end of another pole. There is a long pair of pliers, and a mallet. The base is gray. The bottle is sealed with a cork extending to the top of the cross holding it in place.
